You are basically saying that Xenogears was well-received because it took the many ideas from other animes. It could be. Thing is that no other JRPGs have this much depth in the exploration of human mind and reflection of the world. Most of JRPGs end the story without going deeply inside the human mind. Instead, they focus on saving the world by expressing highschool mentality.

Agreed, if you have half a brain, this game is repugnant offense. The sophomoric dialog and plot line pale in comparison to the horrendous gameplay. Or is it the other way around? It took me slogging through about 4/5 of the game to finally snap out of it and realize, man, this game sucks.

To many iPhone is one of the most successful mobile phone out there inside the world of today and it is safe to say that no small part of that success is ensured by its massive LCD touch-screen display with easy to use commands for all of your iPhone's applications that range from the top in audio playback, viewing clips or even movies, browsing the internet for your favorite websites, to a lot more brain stimulating gadgets like dictionaries, converters and many a lot more.

I've started using computers since 1997. Gabriel Knight The beast within was a game I really enjoyed for many weeks. Next the Sacred blood Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned was by far the best game I ever played. I started playing in an illegal copy but soon afterwards I bought it. Until now I have the original box and CDs placed at my bookshelf. It was just excellent in all aspects.

Now with gray matter I'm a little disappointed. I admit that the story line is excellent however the general appearance of the game is bellow average.
I was waiting for this game since its announcement in 2005. Every Gabriel Knight had technical achievements for their time. What a pity for the gray matter. Jane Jensen is a computer programmer and she could at least, point something at the general development. I have the sense that she lost her willing after so many delays. Nevertheless the game story is good and worth to be played.
I hope after 10 years of waiting to see another game from Jane Jensen that will be as good as her talent.

My dream is a game for Jane just for Playstation with great graphics. It would be less pirated and more enjoyable.

I can see where you're coming from when it comes to the Ultra system, but if you're smart enough, you won't get hit by your opponent's Ultra in the first place.

You talk about those who are not qualified to review a fighting game, yet the strength of your opinion does not show any insight that would be any different from those you are criticizing.

Comment on Zen Review: Metroid Other M by Realmetroidfan

I think this review gets the prize of claiming to know so much about metroid but proving to know so little.

Seriously, nothing about this game makes any sense. Not the comparisons to prime, and not the comparisons to older games. Every complaint has a faux foundation that is shattered by reality.

Seriously, if you went back in time and handed some kids playing super metroid a wii with other M, this review actually claims these kids will put down other M, throw the wii away, and go back to super metroid.

THis clearly wouldnt happen, the kids would crap themselves and not leave the tv room for days, possibly dying of thirst or starvation.

The game over glorifies the primes immensly, glossing over the HUGE departure and massive drop in metroidvania level design quality and transformation into space zelda (Makes sense, as after the first prime yoshio sakamoto, of metroid was replaced entirely by Miyamoto and iawata, of Zelda.) And makes the false claim that the entire trilogy was up to the same standard as the first metroid prime. Which is not even remotely close to being true.

The review makes false claims about scanning being an integral part of what makes metroid an adventure game, which is not only untrue, its ridiculous. Metroidvania level design being well and in tact doesnt matter... It doesnt have primes scanning. What? Yeah. Prime brought scanning to metroid, and prime didnt come out until 2003, 20 years after the series started.

In fact, in another obvious miss from the review, the 'scanning' in other M is NOT something taken from the primes, but is a 3d version of MORPH BALL BOMB SEARCHING. In which the player would use morph ball bombs to expose a blocks type, there would be a unique tile for each of the weapon types the block needed to be destroyed by.

Another false claim was how other M was actually SMALLER than the primes 'confined by small hallways' as if prime wasnt a bunch of rooms connected by tiny hallways. Oh wait, it was... THe difference is other M DWARFS prime in scale, and has an even better streaming system to it, with the player practically NEVER waiting for a door to open. This is one of the MANY ways other M shows Corruption was little more than a gamecube + game.

THe review continues to spread misinformation, apparantly the reviewers mind was made up LONG before playing this game (Likely under the impression that team ninja directed the game and thus must have done everything wrong...) and never bothered to learn that you indeed CAN leap out of harms way while in first person view in other M. Whoops.

The review goes on to make more false claims, likely basing their entire knowledge of the series off the side games under the prime label.... Claiming The game is ruined by the characterization of Samus began back in 1994. Oh yeah, that game this review mentions you should play, which you SHOULD play its awesome, super metroid, starts off with.... *GASP* An unskippable fifteen minute long MONOLOUGE from Samus. THen the next real metroid game, fusion, has Samus monologing AGAIN, at every elevator and break in action. Huh, Imagine that. Other M isnt a departure, its a perfect step by step evolution of the metroid series. THe problem is the reviewer doesnt understand the difference between the prime metroids, and the real metroids.

The reviewer also seems upset that real Samus, which was created back in 2002 with metroid fusion and its promo comic by series creator yoshio Sakamoto, isnt the wet dream fantasy samus that has no personality and thus is just a sexy avatar that never says no to them. nearly a decade is a little late to start complaining guys.

The reviewer also shows failures to comprehend the difference between present samus and young and dumb samus. It is also interesting to see the reviewers take on Samus being a person OUTSIDE of combat as making her weak, when inside combat other M shows the most visceral, brutal, combat masterful Samus the series has ever seen outside of the origin story.

Like most of the poorly written reviews, this one also completely fails to understand that the games universe is based around a military, and the story was researched to properly flesh out that perspective. Including real world military policies like rules of engagement. WHere real soldiers, in real life, will risk danger to themselves, not using their best and most effective weapons until proper authorization is given for raising the level of force. Something that is translated perfectly into a videogame mechanic in other M.

I also prefer finding powerups in the traditional metroid way (Something the primes started to fail to do after the first as well... But dont tell this review that) but not enough that I will make up lies. The change is purely cosmetic. 100% cosmetic. Its not a change in level design or gameplay at all.

In classic metroid the player would find a screen, and then find a point on that screen, and be awarded a power up by touching an item. In other M, the player finds a screen, finds apoint on a screen, where an event then takes place and the player gets a powerup. (With the exception of energy tanks, missile upgrades, and accel chargers.... These are all hidden trhoughout the world and must be found by the player.)

Then the review also flat out lies, which I thought was strange. There are NO shower scenes or boobs in other M, I assure you, this was a blatant lie made as an ad hominum to further raise an anti team ninja fervor to counter rational thought.

Samus is not shown in her zero suit no more in other M than in any other recent metroid, and perhaps a little less than in metroid prime 3 corruption. Oh, yeah, thats right, another lie. THe prime series constantly showed Samus in her zero suit, particularly in the third game.

There is a MASSIVE negative halo effect surrounding Other M. And like other M, its almost ALWAYS based on stupidity, fear, or an urge to protect something.

This review has all three reasons.

THis isnt a review, its a defense of metroid prime from the return of classic metroid.

Its not objective, and it sure as hell isnt factual.

The review actually goes out of its way to construct lies, spread misinformation, and in fact basis its entire philosophy 'team ninja ruined metroid, if it had been made by real metroid people it would have been great' on a complete and absolute falsehood.

Team Ninja did not do ANY of the things this review leveled at them.

Nintendo PRD1, formerly the legendary R&D1, and metroid creators Yoshio Sakamoto and Hiroji Kiyatake did.

The problem with this review, er, raving defense of Other M not being another prime game is that it basis everything on counting on indignant fans to mindlessly reject team ninja (This is likely why the shower scene lie was made up, as insurance to this policy.)

The problem is, team Ninja didnt do any of it. They did exactly what the metroid creators told them to do.

Yoshio Sakamoto, director/story writer of metroid, metroid II (Well, he was busy when this was made, he didnt direct but he did the story) metroid III and metroid fusion, all of the real metroid games, and hiroji kiyatake, series art director and Samus character design creator did.

The changes were made by the ORIGINAL METROID TEAM. They made changes to the game, just like they did from metroid 1 to 2, and 2 to 3, and 3 to 4.

Super metroid and Metroid prime are fantastic games and should absolutely be played.

But using them as a crutch to springboard and lie about another metroid game they already judged before ever playing cheapens their worth horribly.

THis isnt a review, its a personal knee jerk reaction in defense of metroid prime.

How much could you make with this site if you had thousands of money spending visitors coming to it every day?
